Phlebotomy - Marvellous Black Metal
Phlebotomy is an old band. Also one of my favourite bands. Because back then this music they released was in a very special way. Very melodic and with female backing vocals. Back in 1992 when their killer 7" "Dawn Of Grief" was recorded in Studio 5 this wasn't so common. How beautiful isn't the female vocals of Christine and how are not Tolis's growls? Also all these great solos and melodic riffs. Both distorted and with clean guitars. Of course you probably know that Phlebotomy doesn't exist anymore. No, they got bored and changed their name to On Thorns I Lay. Under that name they got signed to the French Holy Records where they released their debut "Sounds Of Beautiful Experience". As everyone has figured out this was total crap with almost only normal vocals. Anyway their follow up: "Orama" is really good and reminds a little of the glory days of Phlebotomy...
