Legion of Doom - Defenders of Hellenic Soil.
Well, well this is Legion of Doom or actually the man at my left is the guitarist Demogorgon who also by the way has the goth project Shadows of Majesty. The Legion of Doom line-up completes with Daimon who handles bass/vocals, and the newly recruited Aithir (from Naer Mataron) who will torture the drums. They started out as a death metal band back in 1990 but changed soon to a more black sound. You probably have heard about them because of their feature of a swastika in the booklet of their first CD "Kingdom of Endless Darkness" which was released by Molon Lave recs. Later they removed the swastika as Osmose refused to distribute the CD. Many say that Legion sounds like Norwegian black metal, but I donīt agree fully with this. The only band that that comes to my mind is Darkthrone (best black in Norway!) with their Panzerfaust, but Iīm not sure. I think that they have a quite original sound with raw and grim production. Anyway their second CD entitled "For Those of the Blood" was released by Hypervorea recs in 1996. This second CD is far more better than the first and the only thing thatīs less good is the short running time. Now the deal with Hypervorea has ended as they "...can't work with nazi-bands". Now Legion of Doom has signed with Darker Than Black records who will re-release "For Those of the Blood" soon and then release their new epic sometime in the summer of 1999. I know that many wont agree with me when I say that I think that Legion is one of the five best black bands of Hellas. But thatīs what I think and I know that some agree with me too. So judge yourself...
